I thought it might be fun for me to share what I’m listening to every now and again.  My hope is that in your reading through my list and thoughts one of two things will happen. One, you will have heard the same podcast episode and related to it in one or another in felt like conversing about it in comparison to what I’ve said about it. Two, that something I talk about peaks your interest and gets you to download the well deserving episode for you to enjoy yourself! As always, I want to hear what you think about what you’re listening to, too!  Be sure to leave your own recommendations and reviews of episodes you’ve listened to recently in the comments. Let’s discuss!

Podcasts I enjoyed last week:

Allison Rosen is Your New Best Friend: 106 with Doug Bensonwhile struggling through an evening training run and powering through Courtney’s super shredded shoulder workout.  This was the first episode of ARIYNBF I’ve downloaded and I liked it enough to subscribe and download a few past episodes with guests I really enjoy.

Doug Loves Movies with Pete Holmes, Rob Hubel, Kumail Nanjiani, and Matt Mira in two parts, while on a walk to work, and while working in the copy room.  I love any podcast episode where Pete Holmes and Kumail Nanjiani are both present – they play off each other so well, and with the addition of Doug Benson, Rob Hubel, and Matt Mira to their conversations you are guaranteed to laugh along while you listen!

Extra Hot Great #75 You’re Still Not a Crackpotwalking home from the office and the interval training run that followed.  This episode was a great one to run to because it was filled of mini topics and discussions submitted from listeners and the hosts themselves.  I often pushed myself to run farther when I originally thought about stopping by convincing myself to run until the conversation on the podcast turned to the next submission.

Joy the Baker Would You Ratherduring my walk home and the time I spent playing with Benson and cleaning the kitchen once I arrived.  I loved playing along with Joy and Tracy as they asked each other “Would You Rather” questions through out the episode.  Savvy Julie had a lot of fun as well, as evidenced by this card she sent in order for us to play along with the podcast.  She wrote her answers to all of Joy and Tracy’s questions and asked for my answers in return! How creative is she!?

The Because Show: Happy Hourwhile running errands to the pharmacy and grocery market.  I’ve wanted to infuse liquor for a several years since first reading about how easy the process is and have been putting it off for way too long.  Nathan’s visit to The Because Show and his suggestions for happy hour remind me of this must-do-soon list item! I can’t wait to tea-infuse some vodka.

Nerdist Podcast 182 Neil Patrick Harrisduring an awesome training run and the walk to work the next day. I love NPH and was excited to hear recently that he is teaming up with Nerdist and Jim Henson on the launched this week Nerdist channel. The show is about Neil Patrick Harris dreaming in muppets – it can’t get much better than that!

Nerdist Podcast 183 Nuclear Wesslewhile doing chores at the apartment.  I wanted to dub this “a very special Nerdist episode” as things get REAL when Moshe Kasher jumps on mic to talk about his story and new book, Kasher in the Rye.  A great discussion about using humor to talk seriously takes place and Moshe’s short reading of his book proves that this is something I MUST read soon.  So moving!

You Made It Weird #34 Nikki Glaserwhile organizing my very messy desk. As always, host Pete Holmes shares an honest look into his own life and experiences which allows his guests to become as vulnerable and genuine.  The conversations on this podcast are totally relatable and help me to sort out my own junk along the way. And Nikki Glaser is hilarious.
