Surprise!

This is my friend from work, Kristine.  Sometimes we toss a football at work:

This is part of a conversation that took place at my desk at 11:01 this morning:

Kristine: You look….
Me: Like I am less likely to poke someone’s eye out with a pen, today?
Kristine: Well, it’s still early. Let’s not jump to any conclusions.

Yesterday was a rough one.

It was the kind of day where I really just wanted to shut my office door [did I mention I don't have an office door?] and hunker down to get work done.

It was the kind of day where everyone seemed to be having conversations around me, forcing me to lose any sort of concentration I may have been holding on to by a thread.

It was the kind of day which I started wishing it was happy hour by 9:37 AM.

It was the kind of day filled with emergency, priority tasks which needed to be faced right then and there, before I finished the current priority task I was already working on.

It was the kind of day which I didn’t even think about taking a lunch break until after 2:30.

It was the kind of day leaving me so mentally exhausted that upon leaving the office, I decided to through my evening to-do list out the window. [I know, right? Surprise!]

Luckily, this “rest and relaxation and not-a-care-in-the-world” new evening plan was a success, and I went to sleep last night with a smile on my face.  [Thanks to getting lost in the most beautiful language of a new book I'm reading, a large iced peppermint tea from Jason, a few hugs from my friend Kirk, and some laughs and good conversation with Nicholas.]

The smiles continued into today when the coffee fairy [aka: Cynthia] unexpectedly walked into my office with a J. Watt’s latte in her hand for my sipping pleasure. What a FANTASTIC surprise!!  We had a nice catch up and chat session, as always.

Now that it’s lunch time [and not at 3:00 in the afternoon. ahem.] I’m here, sipping my surprise latte and reflecting on two beautiful posts I’ve loved recently.  Won’t you join me?

From Sarah: Expectations vs Reality
From Emily: I Believe

Have you read any great reflection posts as of late that you think I should check out, too?

Well over a year ago, while visiting Madison for vaca Blisscation, I fell in love with a line of products.  Ashley and I spent several minutes browsing the organic beauty and baby products at the LuSa table and speaking with the owner, breathing in the sweet scents of soaps and oils, and making our own wish lists of much coveted items.

At the end of the day, I somehow managed to walk away from the LuSa Organics booth with just one item in my bag [it was a miracle of self-restraint, I tell you!] and I can’t brag enough on the wonderfulness that is this product.  I love it so much I had a Madison-area friend send me more to replenish my stock.

Introducing my favorite skin product to date: The LuSa Organics Lotion Bar!

Reasons I am Crazy for the LuSa Lotion Bar:

  • It’s “Joyfully made in Viroqua, Wisconsin.”
  • I go mad for the tea tree & mint scent of my lotion bar.  It gives off a fresh, and clean, and earthy terrific smell.
  • I can keep this bar in my carry on while traveling.  Liquid free lotion while on an airplane = savior of dry skin in this day and age of TSA rules and regulations
  • “Organic is how we eat, how we live, and now how we run our business.” – the LuSa website  I love that the Wolf’s put their own lifestyle into their business practice.
  • Found at the Dane County Farmers Market – one of my most favorite places of all time.  Therefore, every time I use said bar, I am brought back to a wonderful memory of bliss.
  • Unlike other lotions, it does not leave my hands feeling greasy or wet after application.  Just smooth and soft.
  • The LuSa motto: “elevate your everyday.”  Love it.
  • I can purchase more lotion bars, and other LuSa products, online.  No need to take a trip to Mad-town. [You can purchase your own, too.
