4 sleeps until I’m “home.”
If by home, you mean the Shugarman Manor. My parents’ house, which I’ve never lived, but still feels safe, and warm, and comfortable beyond proper description.
4 sleeps until I’m hugging my mother. and father.
and bunches of other family members who are joining in on the fun for a trip to see my baby brother graduate high school .
4 sleeps until Texas.
You can tell I’m excited because I occasionally giggle out of the blue.
The “what to pack” sketches have been hanging on my wall for over a week.
My suitcase is open on the floor with several piles of “yes” and “maybe” near by.
I’ve been tweeting with the hashtag #dentonorbust.
Clearly the excitement is major.
Texas excitement is major because Texas will be major.
While I’m in Texas I will get to snuggle with my fur-nephew, The Titus. His real name is simply Titus, but I think he is so cool that he deserves a “The” in front of his name. He’s my [favorite] sister’s puppy and I am so excited to meet him, and perhaps convince him to be my new running buddy.
I will be running a race in the hot Texas sun, and trying not to keel over and die before the finish line. We will see how that goes.
I will be eating some great food with some great ole blends, and plenty of new ones, too.*
I plan to play games, and read books, and lay in the sun and enjoy the garden. I plan on trying to knock out a long run, and a few short ones, too. I plan on drinking wine, and writing poetry, and living in the moment along the way. I guess we will see how that goes, too.
I have a feeling this trip is going to bring me some clarity. and some healing. and no doubt some wonderful memories.
